Safe Haven: The Rainbow-Jordan Wilderness - Film Screening & Dinner
Join us for the 3rd movie night of this winter's series featuring Valhalla Wilderness Society's new film release "Safe Haven: The Rainbow-Jordan Wilderness".
Schedule:
- 5:30 PM: Dinner featuring Martin's delicious chili and cornbread
- 6:30 PM: Film screening (30 minutes)
- Following the film: Presentation by biologist and campaigner Amber Peters
The film showcases the inland Temperate Rainforest and is the result of eight years of dedicated work towards preserving this unique ecosystem. It features stunning photography from the local area and takes viewers through the park proposal, offering insights from biologists Dr. Ray Serrouya, Curtis Bjork, and Tyson Ehlers, who have documented hundreds of species of plants, lichens, and fungi in the Rainbow-Jordan area.
The documentary, directed by award-winning filmmaker Damien Gillis, presents the ancient forest through the eyes of biologists and lifetime conservationist Craig Pettitt, VWS founding director.
This is part of our "Eat, Watch, Learn!" series, bringing together community, education, and conservation awareness.
